Vintage 1994 Cleveland Browns Dawg Pound Temporary Tattoos – NFL Licensed

Sealed since the Dawg Pound was still standing.

An unopened 1994 Cleveland Browns temporary tattoo pack, officially licensed NFL merchandise from TAG Express, with the licensing line printed on the card itself: Licensed To and Manufactured By Highgate Products, Inc. 1994. The red tamper seal is still intact across the plastic — this one has never been opened.

Per the printed contents line it holds two transfers, one large and one small, in Browns brick red, maroon and navy on a cream ground.

The Dawg Pound was the bleacher section at the east end of Cleveland Municipal Stadium. It got its name in the mid-1980s from cornerbacks Hanford Dixon and Frank Minnifield, who took to calling their own defensive linemen “dogs” and barking at them in practice — the bleachers heard it, liked it, and adopted it. By 1994 that end of the stadium was a wall of dog masks, barking at visiting offenses.

1994 is a pointed year for a pack like this. The Browns reached the playoffs and won a round that season. The franchise left for Baltimore after the following one, and the stadium came down in 1996. This little sealed card is from the last stretch of the original Browns in the original building.

Sold as one sealed pack. The clear plastic case is scuffed with light surface scratches from storage; the card inside is bright and unmarked.
